Engineered stone Hard and resilient engineered stone surfaces – like engineered quartz – are often recommended for high-utility areas like the sinktop. Non-porous and stain-resistant, these surfaces spare you the trouble of having to worry about the aftereffects of spillages from your beauty products, like liquid foundations or hair dyes. Design by Studio FortyFour Terrazzo-patterned solid surface quartz slabs were used on the vanity sink, while mosaic and stone-textured homogenous tiles decorate the bathroom walls. Natural stone Beautiful natural stone surfaces may give your bathroom aesthetics an added boost, but they do constitute an unusual bathroom surface choice for their typically high-maintenance and non-slip-resistant properties. This downside however, can be mitigated if you opt for coarser, textured stones like slate. Natural stone surfaces like marble and granite would require constant upkeep and sealing, not to mention that they tend to be vulnerable to stains. However, the unique veining and graining details make natural stone surfaces especially captivating.
