KEY TO YOUR HOME 2020

KEY TOYOUR HOME / 93 Faucets & Mixers Though they all function with the same goal of providing water for your cleansing needs, choosing the right faucet or mixer may not be as easy it seems. When presented with so many choices of faucet mechanisms and designs, how do you know which set-up is best-suited for your home? 1. Materials and finishings The first thing that we’re likely to note when buying a faucet, is its appearance. A durable and low maintenance stainless steel exterior takes the lead among most homeowners. Warm-toned finishings, like brass, copper, and gold, can instantly glam up your bathroom and make it look more premium and luxurious. And if glossy finishings are not your thing, opt for matte exteriors that are stylish and visually-pleasing. 2. Handle type Lever handles for the faucet are slowly taking over the more conventional knobs. These handles prove themselves to be easier to operate, requiring just a gentle push or pull, as compared to knobs that require a good grip to turn. This definitely makes it more ideal for households with children and the elderly. 3. Position Find the sweet spot in your bathroom to install the faucet. Ideally, the tap should not be jutting too far out from the basin or you may end up with water splashing everywhere. But this does not mean that you should recline it further to the wall either, as you will just find yourself having to lean in deeper over the basin to use it.
