Dreamy floral dining

Newly opened 1-Flowerhill at Sentosa is a floral-themed dining destination with dream wedding vibes

An idyllic, century-old conservation bungalow nestled on a verdant hill bursting with vibrant flowerbeds and greenery. Sounds like something straight out of a painting – which in this case, it just might be.

Enter newly opened 1-Flowerhill – a multi-concept dining destination, chillout spot and wedding venue florally inspired in both name and decor.

It takes after Ile aux Fleurs near Vetheuil, a 19th-century painting from famed French impressionist Claude Monet depicting an equally bucolic setting along the banks of the river Seine.

In this case though, the idyllic backdrop happens to be Sentosa’s very own Imbiah Hill, a well-manicured garden- scape replete with old-world charm, local flora and calming water features.

It’s a fitting spot for hospitality giant 1-Group’s latest lifestyle destination, considering their other concepts like 1-Altitude Coast, 1-Arden Bar and Botanico are all situated in equally stunning locales.

Expect to find flavours both fresh and familiar at 1-Flowerhill’s trio of culinary concepts, beginning with a cafe-hopping staple that needs no introduction.

We’re talking, of course, about Wildseed Cafe, a group stalwart well-loved for its winning formula of international and locally inflected brunch bites, breezy beverages and quaint atmosphere.

The pet-friendly cafe once again pairs cosy indoor seating with alfresco sections that offer commanding views of the nearby greenery – views that transform by night into something altogether more exciting, along with the rest of the cafe as it switches up to Wildseed Bar & Grill.

Sumptuous bar bites and sharing platters laden with grilled meats and seafood take over the menu at the nighttime concept, along with an intoxicating beverage programme heady with bespoke locavore cocktails, beer and wine.

The third and last of these concepts is Camille, a restaurant named for Monet’s muse and greatest love. Like 1-Flowerhill, the second-floor dining room carries a floral theme, greeting guests that ascend through the grand staircase with a kinetic light installation reminiscent of a flower in bloom.

The nosh, on the other hand, leans on a marriage of French and Japanese techniques applied to sustainably sourced ingredients at the height of seasonality. Dishes from the culinary pairing of 1-Group’s executive chef of Asian cuisines Lamley Chua and head chef Loh Wai Lun include a mixed tartare of both yellowfin tuna and cold-smoked A5 Hokkaido beef, and roast duck breast dressed in an ume shiso jus.

These varied concepts, along with the venue’s inviting mix of colonial architecture and verdant greenery, make for a lifestyle destination well-worth the trip to Sentosa – or, for anyone looking to mark a grand celebration, the event venue of a lifetime.

1-Flowerhill is at 6 Imbiah Rd, Sentosa, Singapore 099696.
