After engaging in extensive, heartfelt discussions with Wein Goh from Notion of W, the homeowners grappled with the challenging decision of choosing a theme that would complement the existing layout of their beloved home. Torn between the urban charm of a Manhattan loft and the sleek allure of contemporary modern design, they ultimately entrusted the design team with the decision. In the end, a contemporary modern look was chosen, breathing new life into the home. The transformation involved meticulous retouches in some areas and complete overhauls in others. Now, the home exudes a sense of refined elegance and cosy warmth, infused with modern design elements that gracefully adorn every space.
Living room
The expansive living and dining area exudes contemporary elegance, defined by its rich textures and materials. The walls, a harmonious blend of vertical wooden flutes and grey marble panels, create a display that’s both luxurious and inviting. Above, the ceiling captivates with its innovative design, featuring wooden slats that curve upwards to conceal lighting elements and a modern ceiling fan, all while enhancing the room’s aesthetic. A built-in shelving unit, adorned with decorative objects and books, injects a personal and homely touch into the space.
Kitchen
This kitchen’s daring use of dark tones and natural textures redefines the heart of the home as a statement piece. Loving the idea of a second family dining area, an impressive kitchen island with a marble countertop provides a great area for meal preparation and casual dining. The kitchen cabinetry is finished in a matte black that contrasts with wood paneling behind the cooking area, creating a sleek and sophisticated backdrop. A vertical garden panel serves as an organic element, infusing the space with vibrancy and a touch of nature.
Master bedroom
This bedroom cleverly incorporates a variety of textures and colours to create a modern and stylish space. Anchored by rich wood flooring, the space features a large bed with a handmade teal upholstered headboard and laminated flute panels, creating an inviting atmosphere for relaxation.
