Declutter your space by sorting your items into three categories: essentials, for storage and to give away. Display only the essentials, keep away items into storage boxes and baskets and give away items that you’re unlikely to use again. Let’s be real – if you haven’t used a particular item in the past 3 years, it’s unlikely you’ll ever use it again. Give it away and make space for more important items you actually need!
Textures

Different textures give your home depth and add to the whole tactile and visual experience. A space with just smooth, polished surfaces may seem rather dull and uninteresting, whereas too much overlay of texture can be rather chaotic and uninviting. Keeping it simple but bold is a good way to balance the atmosphere, but also provoke visual interest. Adorning plain walls with paintings or adding rugs to polished floors can really do wonders for your home.

Pops of complementary colours can really brighten up a room, much like texture. A good way not to go overboard with your palette is to choose a neutral base colour first. The neutral base colour sets the tone and gives you an idea of what accents complement it. Have a clear idea of what vibe you want your room to convey. If you want a fun family room, don’t be afraid to select a variety of warm shades, but if you want a more sombre working area, go easy on your palette. Plants and flowers not only breathe new life into a room, but also add the essential pops of colours you need.

Mirrors, as well as gold and silver accents, add a touch of sophistication and class to your home. Large mirrors make a room appear larger and more spacious while small mirrors are great as decorative pieces. Painting door handles of cupboards silver or gold (depending on the colour scheme of the room) can go a long way in making your space look luxurious.
