IKEA Singapore recently announced that it will be releasing a second catalogue in February 2019, which is 4 months after the launch of the first IKEA 2019 catalogue. This is something that will get fans of the Swedish furniture company excited as there will be even more home decor ideas and inspiration to bookmark. Plus, we hear that the book is somewhat of a collector’s item.
However, something that should get homeowners even more excited is the company’s upcoming collections. From an avant-garde ceramics range to a line of furniture inspired by IKEA hacks, these covet-worthy collections will appeal to style-conscious homeowners.
Cabinet of curiosities
If you consider yourself a collector or simply love to keep your home organised, IKEA’s SAMMANHANG collection is something you’d want to look out for. From a coffee table and display stand to glass boxes and domes, this small storage range encourages you to put your collections and personality on display.
Inspired by hacks
IKEA is acknowledging its vibrant hacking community with the release of the LYSKRAFT collection. Created in collaboration with Dutch design studio Scholten & Baijings, this 22-piece collection features customisable IKEA classics. These include the POANG armchair available in a variety of interchangeable frames and seats as well as the KLIPPAN sofa that can be modified with a series of colour-blocked legs.
A surreal collection
Joining hands with Swedish glass artist Per B Sundberg, IKEA is releasing an exclusive-to-Singapore collection on 20 September that will appeal to avant-garde art enthusiasts. The FOREMAL collection features a series of ceramic decor and soft furnishings that straddle the line between pretty and ugly. Expect to find rugs and fabrics printed with surrealist imagery, vases in the shape of a skull and antiques-inspired candlesticks.
Vintage IKEA
This one is for die-hard IKEA fans and furniture collectors alike. To celebrate its 75th anniversary, IKEA will be bringing back classic designs from the 1950s until the early 2000s. Launching in three parts between October and December 2019, the GRATULERA collection comprises vintage IKEA pieces like the mid-century modern LOVBACKEN side table as well as 80s and 90s minimalist classics. This is a limited edition collection, so be sure to mark your calendar!
