Black, grey and white give this home a soothing vibe. A stylish, monochrome theme takes centrestage in this resale flat. The homeowners wanted a darker space and designers Kelvin and Yan from Blend by ImC followed the given brief but proposed some wood elements for additional texture.
New porcelain tiles were laid and unique design features were added too. With a wealth of storage space now, the homeowners can easily keep their space neat at all times.
Living room
Step into the home and be greeted by a curved wall with a seating space as a highlight. The designers added the curved feature to break away from the straight walls and suggested this seating feature too – then the homeowners personalised the space with artwork. The seat’s colour stands out against the white wall but perfectly matches the homeowners’ sofa. Black wall panels slide over the TV to conceal it when not in use. Casement storage cabinets and some open shelves beside the TV make it easy to clear away any clutter before guests arrive.
Kitchen
The designer proposed a new island, based on the homeowners’ lifestyle. This sits adjacent to a wall, with a sink built into it and barstools around it so the homeowners can have company while they get their chores done. Cabinets next to the island hide alcohol and dinnerware. There’s more storage space next to this, with beautiful fluted glass doors and LED strip lights on the inside. A new area was created on the other side of the kitchen, where an empty wall once stood. It now serves as a space for simple food prep, with a microwave and coffee machine.
Bathroom
There’s a pop of colour in the ensuite, with olive wall tiles in the vanity area.
The entire bathroom was renovated, with a cosy rain shower and plenty of counter and storage space next to the sink.
Laundry area
This space was created by partitioning an area of the existing, large kitchen. A glass door now divides the kitchen and the laundry room and a column-design storage cabinet with shelving is useful for keeping laundry essentials. Plus, the counter space is the perfect spot to neatly place the iron and ironing board when not in use.
