Deciding that their residence could use an update, this family turned to Richfield Integrated for a home that would meet their current tastes and needs.
Designing a home for a household of seven can be rather daunting, especially when there’s also 4,300sq ft of space to work with. However, Designer KC and Project Manager Lucas Lau of Richfield Integrated handled the project with aplomb, renovating this entire property from the main gate and landscaping to the attic for a modern and inviting dwelling where the family can spend precious moments together.
At the heart of the brief was a request to revitalise the family home and turn it into a contemporary space with clean lines and functional designs. “Functional” would be a keyword here as the previous layout didn’t fully maximise the potential of the house
and the space also needed to work well to accommodate the needs of four adults and three young kids. Thus, beyond tweaking the floor plan and modernising the appearance of various zones throughout, the team managed to incorporate thoughtful changes that made the house a lot more enjoyable for its occupants.
Some enhancements include a dedicated entertainment room for the homeowner who’s an avid collector of vinyl records and a Hi-Fi enthusiast. In this space that leads to the main bedroom, the team designed a stunning record storage system that would act as an acoustic diffuser and also allow the homeowner to display his collection as wall art. One floor below, the three young girls of the household also have plenty to be pleased about. As they are very close and like staying together, two rooms were combined so that they can now all bunk in the same space. This modification also allowed them to have a walk-in closet and a large bathroom for their use.
On the first floor, the girls’ study area also underwent a huge revamp. For a pleasing and distraction-free environment, a custom-built L-shaped desk and sleek storage replaced mix and match furniture. A low wall partition was also swapped out for a full-height glass window, bringing more natural light into the kitchen while letting the adults look in on the kids more easily to see if they need help.
With the same level of care and attention put into different spaces throughout the house, the family is full of effusive praise for the design firm and results. “We enjoyed almost every moment working with the Richfield team,” the homeowner shares. “Their attention to detail was remarkable. This further translated into flawless execution and we are very happy with the final product. The post-completion support from the Richfield team is first class too. I don’t usually like to recommend ID firms but my strong confidence in the team has led me to do a few recommendations to my network!”
