Equal parts polished and practical, this family home feels as refined as it is ready for real life.
Condominium units are not exactly known for sprawling space, but that’s hardly a concern for real estate strategist Kelly and her financial planner husband Vincent, who recently moved into their 5-bedroom condominium in Clementi. With a roomy 1,690 sqft layout and a view that stretched for miles, they found a home that checked every box.
This wasn’t the couple’s first rodeo. Having been through the renovation process before, Kelly and Vincent knew exactly what they wanted this time around: a home that felt more cohesive and calming.
“We’re in fast-paced, client-facing roles, so home needed to feel like a soft landing after long days,” Kelly says. “We also wanted it to be kid-friendly without compromising on design.”
What’s most remarkable is that the entire renovation came in at just $30,000, a feat made possible by Jennifer, their interior designer from Renozone, by working smart with the developer’s provisions and focusing on what truly needed customisation.
“We wanted a clean, contemporary space with subtle luxe details—think seamless built-ins, soft neutral tones, and bold accent pieces. A home that blends functionality with a sense of calm, and which feels effortlessly refined yet lived-in,” Kelly shares.
“Balancing aesthetic wants vs practical needs took some back-and-forth. But Jennifer really held the vision together.”
The experience begins the moment the elevator doors open onto their private lift lobby—a luxurious touch that offers both exclusivity and a quiet buffer from the outside world. A console adorned with ceramics and woven baskets, paired with a potted plant, sets a serene tone.
“We kept it clean—a slim console, ambient lighting, and a blending shoe cabinet. The goal was a quiet welcome, not visual clutter,” Kelly says.
Beyond the doors, the communal areas open up into a light-filled expanse. The cool tones of a stone dining table, paired with grey velvet chairs, are warmed by a trio of gleaming copper pendant lights. The couple wanted to maintain the sleek look and feel in the living room, all while weaving in hidden storage and kid-friendly features. Accordingly, Jennifer designed a TV wall and console complete with recessed drawers and rounded corners.
“The feature wall with recessed lights and flush paneling was Jennifer’s idea and it completely transformed the space. She also pushed us to go bold with the leather sofa, which became the heart of the living area,” Kelly explains.
The mustard centrepiece anchors the living room, balanced by a cosy white accent chair and a playful patterned floor mat. Together, they bring warmth and movement to the space—a subtle nod to the lively energy of the little ones who call it home. Just beyond, the balcony offers a breezy respite and a prime spot for alfresco meals or simply soaking in the sunset.
Since the unit overlooks the dense sprawl of the city, the master bedroom was designed as a deliberate counterpoint, a restful escape from urban life. Here, oak floors lend a warm, natural touch, while blackout curtains cocoon the space for uninterrupted sleep.
Unlike typical layouts where bedside tables are considered a luxury, the master bedroom here offers a rare sense of spaciousness even without hacking or combining rooms. There’s ample room for both a mini workstation and a vanity, specially designed to maintain the room’s soothing simplicity.
“The dresser is one of the most functional pieces in the home, designed with a cover to conceal the mess and keep clutter at bay,” Kelly says.
The adjoining walk-in wardrobe was a pleasant surprise that came with the unit. Inside, LED-lit shelves framed by tinted glass doors showcase Kelly’s collection of handbags alongside sentimental keepsakes. Compact as it is, the space opens up with light from a nearby window, offering both a view and a quiet reminder to slow down.
“The view from the window still makes us pause,” Kelly says.
