Maximise your compact boudoir with these clever space-saving beds that promise more than a good night’s rest.
Aside from its engineered steel frame and upholstered head that wraps around the corners for a cosy, luxurious look, the Symphony by King Living looks just like a regular bed. In truth, the Symphony offers an elegant storage solution in the form of a hidden compartment that is built into its timber base. Adding to its usefulness is an in-built lift mechanism that makes the act of opening and closing the compartment’s lid effortless.
Working around space limitations, the design team from LLARK Architects constructed this innovative, multipurpose loft bed for their client who lives with her pet dog. Truly one-of-a-kind, the bed’s frame incorporates not just a bed and study desk, but also stair drawers, bookshelves and a mini kennel, which is occupied by none other than the owner’s furry companion.
Despite its relatively simple configuration, one cannot deny the elegance of this space-saving bed that shares the same backing as an adjoining study table. Paralleling the structure’s overall simplicity is a pair of sleek, handle-less bottom drawers underneath the latter’s surface, which provides a convenient way to store stationery as well as other personal belongings.
Cosy and convenient, this custom-made bed comes surrounded by a multitude of storage options, all integrated into the platform. The bed’s frame and surroundings are fully maximised by a series of pull-out base drawers, in addition to pull-up storage compartments that that can hide a multitude of knick-knacks.
