Overall view
A chevron pathway of glossy marble leads visitors from the foyer into the heart of the design studio, inviting them to admire the room’s high ceilings in all of their glory. In fact, it is these high ceilings that inspired much of the studio’s design; vertical panelling leads the eye upwards throughout the building. At the same time, a cloud-inspired pendant lamp enhances the “sky-high” quality of the ceiling even further.
Beyond the kitchen and the living room, a Dekton TV cabinet sits surrounded by illuminated shelves, which were filled with pairs of animal statues—a whimsical decision inspired by the story of Noah’s Ark.
Living room
The living room practically invites visitors to dive into the soft furnishings, which were sourced all the way from overseas to match the look of the design studio to a T.
Behind the back-to-back couches, the room’s large window was adorned with rounded edges for a softer look that makes the space feel less commercial and more like a cosy nook. The final touch is the houndstooth curtains, which frame the window with a decidedly designer vibe for that extra touch of inspiration.
Kitchen
The kitchen boasts the designer’s favourite part of the studio: an imposing marble island with grand veining. The construction of this island proved particularly difficult, as the marble slab needed to be curved and laser-cut for a fluted finish, a task the designer had to source the perfect craftsman for.
The rest of the kitchen was clad in custom Fenix cabinets with anti-scratch and anti-fingerprint properties. Homogenous tiles underline the entire design across the kitchen flooring for a long-lasting and durable foundation.
Home office
Like the living room, the home office was fitted out with carpet flooring for a softer touch during design discussions. These conversations are facilitated further by a handy whiteboard from Formica, which was attached to the room’s storage cabinet using a sliding track, allowing it to maximise the storage space behind.
The final highlight of this home office is without a doubt the desk; crafted using quartz from MS Stone, this makes for an unconventionally luxurious and durable work area.
Bathroom
The lower half of the bathroom walls were covered in the same marble as the floor for a sense of expansiveness in this relatively small washroom. The custom-made Dekton Khalo sink blends in with the surroundings for a seamless look. One of the upper walls was then fitted with a laser-cut, fluted marble slab and enhanced with cove lighting.
The other three walls, on the other hand, were adorned with black glass, which helps to visually expand the bathroom and reflects the rest of the marble, creating an all-around marble effect. The Eclipse lights from Era by Stype lend the bathroom its final touch, enhancing the entire space with an irresistible rose-gold glow.
