Inspired by natural elements and contemporary interiors, this young couple crafted a down-to-earth abode that brings them simple pleasure.
Embarking on this new chapter of their lives with their beloved poodle, these two homeowners didn’t ask for much—a simple, understated home filled with natural materials and pared-back tones. Their contemporary, nature-inspired dream home was skilfully executed by Paul Lau from Darwin Interior.
By incorporating wood, concrete, plants and a series of comforting artworks, the design team delivered an inviting and serene abode for years to come.

Entryway and living area
The first feature to greet one upon entering the home is the fluted cabinet, the textured finish concealing both a handy shoe cabinet and the household shelter. The built-in settee gives the homeowners a little nook to rest while putting on their shoes, adding plenty of functionality to the entryway without taking up extra space.
In the living area, a sofa from Cellini with bonus storage space keeps the couple comfortable during Netflix marathons.
Kitchen
Galley kitchens are known for being small and dark, but this one proves that it doesn’t have to be that way. Thanks to a large window overlooking the living area, the kitchen is bright and appears much more expansive. The natural theme is continued in this area with wood-look countertops from KompacPlus.
Bedroom
Instead of opting for classic bedside tables, the design team chose to go down the built-in route, constructing floating nightstands that blend in with the headboard and flooring for a cohesive, seamless look. The strip lighting lends the room a soft glow that isn’t harsh on the eyes during late nights and early mornings.
Walk-in wardrobe
The wall between the primary and second bedroom was torn down to incorporate a walk-in wardrobe. While the clothes are kept neatly behind tinted doors, a luxurious bag display divides the wardrobe into his and hers and lightens the look of the otherwise bulky structure.
