Entry and living area
With restricted travel opportunities, the clients wanted to bring their love for the European countryside home. The designers made several trips to vintage stores to find a decorative screen that would establish the aesthetic right from the entrance. They then created a relaxing and cosy vibe in the communal space using a palette of pleasing pastels (Nippon Paint Basket Beige NP N 1879 P and Natural Cedar NP N 1878 T), arches on a wall and the window area, as well as rounded decor and furnishings.
Kitchen
ABCD’s team proved their mettle by designing the cooking zone, taking down a wall to open up and brighten the dark, odd-shaped space and then packing the tiny kitchen with an oven, a dishwasher, pantry, coffee station, wine display, mini bar and more.
After visits to multiple tile specialists to find the right designs for a bold, European-style backsplash, the team further spent “countless hours” at Hafary mixing and matching patterns and working out calculations to make sure every piece would fit perfectly, especially around the curved wall. Installing the tiles was another challenge but everyone’s effort was justified in the end as the feature turned out beautifully.
Bedroom
Pulling tones from the living room, the bedroom feels extra cosy with a cushioned headboard from Commune and feathery juju hats hung above. Glittery lampshades hanging down from both sides of the bed lend a touch of whimsy to the space.
Bookcase and display
Located in the bedroom, this custom-made arched feature is useful, pretty and helps to play down the thickness of a false wall constructed to house a pocket door.
Bathroom
A calming ambience was achieved with a simple wood-look vanity and mirror, complemented with sanitary fittings that ABCD sourced to go with the set-up.
