With “whisky and ice and everything nice” as a design prompt, this resale condo was transformed into a dark and intimate lair.
It’s not every day that a beverage forms the starting point for a home renovation, but this homeowner decided to shape his abode around his love of whisky.
Designers Averse Yau and Joey Gan from A Blue Cube Design took inspiration from this iconic drink, considering that “it should be stored in the dark to preserve the taste and colour!”
Thus the home’s dark and alluring colour palette was born, enhanced by high-end furnishings, carefully selected mood lighting and a harmonious combination of four types of natural stone. The end result is moody, intimate and polished; indeed the perfect place to share a sip of whisky with treasured guests.
