Living room
While the home boasted impressive 4.5m ceilings, it lacked personality and needed more storage for this family of six.
Fulfilling the family’s request for a bright and luxurious aesthetic, their designer crafted a tiered ceiling to accentuate the height of the space, installed a showstopping marble-patterned feature wall, added trim details to give plain surfaces more character and dressed the room with dramatic curtains.
Dining zone
In the dining area, a special built-in was created for this space combining closed storage, display zones for the homeowners’ beloved items, as well as a dining bench. Mirrored panels at the back of the unit reflect the rest of the room, creating a brighter and more spacious appearance.
Primary bedroom
In the lofty bedroom, a cosier effect was achieved by surrounding the bed with custom cabinetry which holds the homeowners’ watches and handbags and includes a niche that acts as a bedside table.
A subtle wallpaper behind the bedframe adds a touch of texture and sheen, enhancing the room’s glam factor.
Study
Designed for productivity, the workstation features a sizeable worktop, plenty of compartments to hold supplies and documents, as well as a nifty whiteboard to quickly jot down reminders and thoughts.
Kids’ room
To comfortably accommodate two kids in this small room, the designer took advantage of the room’s tall ceilings and proposed a bunk bed with padded headboards and a translucent guard rail on the second deck to let light pass through.
Constructed out of solid plywood and clad with glossy marble-look laminates, the unit includes alcoves for the young ones to display their favourite toys and books while providing plenty of closed storage to hide clutter.
