Chill-out corner
Anchored by a synthetic brick wall and furnished with a wood console table with gold accents, this area offers the owners a cosy spot to wind down while listening to their record collection of ’80s music. Besides imbuing the space with textural interest, the feature wall contrasts nicely against the vinyl wood flooring, making the space feel more lively and dynamic.
Coffee area
Situated behind the dining zone, the coffee counter features pastel green laminates that introduce some personality and colour into the wood-dominated eating zone. Display cabinets on the wall keep the family’s souvenir mugs from their travels safe, and there is also space for a wine fridge for their alcoholic beverages.
Kitchen
Mainly used by the lady homeowner, the kitchen was designed with her preferences in mind. Shaker cabinets featuring striking blue laminates, a colour she loves, offer ample storage solutions while white subway tiles provide a grounding contrast against the bold hue. Meanwhile, the barn door and Peranakan-style floor tiles pay homage to the aesthetics she grew up with.
Bathroom
Demonstrating how a HDB bathroom can look extravagant, the design team paired white hexagonal tiles on the walls with patterned floor tiles to establish a distinctive appearance. Meanwhile, a glass shower screen separates the wet and dry zones, and wall shelves provide a landing spot for bathroom essentials.
Living room
A palette of pristine whites and cosy wood tones imbue the living room with a laid-back charm that allows its occupants to immediately feel at ease. Additionally, sleek furniture and unobtrusive furnishings keep the home open and airy, allowing natural light to flood all corners of the space.
