Entry
The original entrance was dark and unappealing, not exactly the welcoming sight one expects upon stepping inside. The new foyer features a display niche and bronze mirrors that complement the creamy marble flooring, presenting an entry that’s brighter, more spacious and elegant.
Dining
Well-equipped for dining and entertaining, this area includes a floating buffet with storage for tableware as well as a custom nook that fits a secondary fridge and wine chiller. The homeowner sourced the dining set locally, specifically picking a table with a marble top that would match the dark grey colour scheme of the first floor.
Media wall
A geometric design creates a dynamic pattern against sleek laminates, creating a lively mood in the communal space. Streamlined drawers keep the area tidy, supplemented with under-cabinet lighting which gives the storage units a weightless look.
Dry kitchen
Using dark grey marble-look floor tiles from Hafary helps to set this space apart. An existing L-shaped island was no longer in good condition, so the peninsula was rebuilt with a contemporary design and topped with hardy Casa Stone quartz for worry-free maintenance. Eye-catching overhead pendants from Lightart Studio were paired with gorgeous high stools, making this an inviting spot for friends and family to hang out. At the entrance to the wet kitchen, a black, metal-framed door was installed to prevent cooking fumes from wafting out when heavy cooking is in session.
Bathroom
Smart planning helped the team make the most of this petite and odd-shaped space. They added a longer vanity here and turned the triangular corner into a sizeable shower area. Using the same dramatic marble-look tiles on the walls and floor also served to make the space seem larger.
