When Studio FortyFour began their renovation work on this 5-room BTO flat, the young homeowners were certain about one thing: they needed an upbeat colour scheme to represent their fun-loving way of life. As they also love to host friends and family, the kitchen was transformed into the heart of the home, connecting to the dining and living areas for a spacious, welcoming feel.

Dining area
According to Studio FortyFour, the kitchen-cum-dining area was the most challenging space to design. “Combining the laminate dining table with the island was certainly challenging,” the designers share with us. “The result had to increase the storage space for it to be a functional centrepiece.” Below this custom dining set-up, terrazzo-inspired tiles make for an especially bold and dynamic gathering space that yet remains classy.
Living area
Clad in soothing tones that make it undoubtedly relaxing, the living area yet comes with a few quirky touches that bring forth the homeowners’ personalities. The couches are definitely the highlight of this space, custom-made by Blafink to liven up the neutral flooring and white walls of the room.
Bedroom
Even the most pared-down of spaces in this home has a surprise waiting just around the corner. This light grey bedroom is elevated by a unique paint feature just below the ceiling, the calming shade of burnt orange infusing the room with a pop of colour.
Main bathroom
Continuing the home’s pastel theme, the homeowners’ main bathroom is clad in soothing blue tiles, complemented by a stronger pop of red across the floating vanity. Like in the living area, the neutral wood flooring helps to ground the overall space, lending the bathroom a warm and cosy feel.
