To envision what it’s like to live with these products, head over to Smeg’s first Southeast Asia experiential showroom at The Heart, Marina One, where you can experience the brand’s entire line-up of large and small appliances in person.
The centrally located showroom embodies the company’s made-in-Italy values, shining the spotlight on design, performance and attention to detail. Interior designer Roy Teo worked on the interiors to facilitate the exploration of the myriad offerings.
At the entrance, guests are met with a dramatic green wall of decorative and aromatic plants, a nod to Smeg’s commitment to sustainability. Further inside, the living kitchen is a big draw, serving design inspiration and doubling as a space for hands-on cooking workshops.
At the lounge, you can learn more about the products while enjoying tea and coffee made by Smeg appliances such as the newly launched Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine, which freshly grinds coffee beans to prepare up to six types of caffeinated beverages.
Two touch-controlled models are available—BCC01 is perfect for a cup of rich black coffee, while the BCC02 model features a milk frothing/steaming function that’s ideal for lattes, cappuccinos and latte macchiatos. Both allow you to select how finely to grind the coffee to further customise the strength.
Coffee aficionados will also be able to explore the highly regarded products from La Pavoni. Smeg recently acquired the historied Italian espresso coffee machine maker founded in 1905, further cementing Smeg’s commitment to furthering coffee culture.
If a Smeg fridge has always been on your wishlist, the highly recognisable FAB28, which comes in an array of 15 finishes and colours, has recently been refreshed with new features. The Multiflow system efficiently distributes temperature more evenly through the compartments while the addition of a 0°C compartment keeps meat and fish fresh.
An anti-ice back panel prevents ice from forming, preserving the flavours and textures of your ingredients. Further tweaks have been made to the fridge’s form including new LED lights on both sides that improve visibility without increasing energy consumption.
This and other improvements have also given the fridge an A+++ energy rating, the most efficient energy class. Appearance-wise, smaller door hinges within create a more elegant appearance while still being as functional as ever.
Later this year, Smeg will be introducing its latest GALILEO range of ovens inspired by the father of modern science.
Equipped with professional algorithms and offering three cooking modes—traditional convection, steam and microwave cooking—the GALILEO ovens are designed to produce professional results in a home setting, no matter whether users are seeking to create lofty bread, steam foods or experiment with sous vide cooking.
