Wide, Open and Spacious Home

This home may have a minimalist theme but the changes have made a huge impact. After moving into this resale flat, the homeowners decided a makeover was needed as they wanted a clean look. So they chose a minimalist theme and assigned the task of this renovation to designers from Blend by ImC.

Simple changes have resulted in a home with an open and inviting layout. The colours accentuate the minimalist theme, with a muted palette of mostly white and brown. All the flooring was changed too, matching this colour theme.

Living room

What was a living room and a balcony before has been opened up, with a segregated area that can now be used as a reading corner or a space to rest while putting on shoes. The homeowners wanted to retain the idea of having a balcony but preferred an open concept. Therefore, the design team proposed using accent wall tiles to separate the two different spaces. A curved feature wall was also added in the living area and the homeowners requested to add wall niches.

Kitchen

A free-standing island was added here, providing more space for food prep and also an area where the family can gather around.

The unique lights above the island, which were purchased online, match the kitchen’s sleek look perfectly. The design team added wooden shelvings above workspaces instead of cabinets so the kitchen doesn’t look so chunky.

Bathrooms

Grey, white and black are the chosen colours for the common bathroom. It received an overhaul and now sports a sleek framed shower entrance as well as a large vanity mirror. The ensuite has a different colour theme, with pink chosen to match with the master bedroom. The designers wanted to coordinate the colours because it’s a small space and this makes it look visually less cluttered.

Bedroom

The pink hue here adds to the master bedroom’s cosy feel. The homeowners wanted French doors and this colour was chosen to match with the rest of the bedroom. The customised door is the only one in the home with this look. The headboard was customised with laminated plywood and the bedside lamps hang from the wall above the bed, so space isn’t wasted by having bedside tables for placing lamps.
