Foyer

After getting a sense of the homeowners’ characters, Gerald jazzed up this plain foyer with a bold diamond design, incorporating the wife’s penchant for white decor as well as the husband’s preference for dark tones. Boasting ample storage and convenient seating, it’s now one of the couples’ favourite parts of the flat.

Living room

Enveloped in cosy, dark hues, the communal zone is anchored by a TV wall that’s sleek yet stunning. The couple wanted the unit to look clean and be easy to maintain. Gerald elevated its design with fluted panelling and gold hardware. To impart a natural touch to the room, he added a stone laminate behind the TV and also used 60x60cm homogenous stone-look floor tiles from Soon Bee Huat. The furnishings here are custom, designed in collaboration with the homeowners to suit the space.

Kitchen and dining area

Since the clients don’t cook often, the kitchen was opened up for a roomier feel. For a clean look, crystal white glass was used for the backsplash, matched with Silestone quartz for the counters in a similar tone. To enhance the room-brightening effect, the cabinets were clad in light grey laminates, then studded with gold elements for character. The statement dining table was crafted using 12mm-thick Dekton by Cosentino, resulting in a hardy and low-maintenance piece suitable for daily use.

Master bedroom

Cocooned in restful tones and shaded by Diyida smart curtains, the bedroom has a minimalistic vibe that’s conducive for sleep though not short on style. A dramatic black headboard spans a wall, punctuated by brass inlays that add a little glamour. Also built into the design are generous pull-out drawers that sit under the side tables to help eliminate clutter.

Bathroom

For an upscale appearance, the gorgeous stone-look tiles from the living room make a reappearance here, their smooth surface reflecting light and making for easy maintenance. Simple fittings from De’ Bath Square and online stores round off the decor, giving the space a timeless feel.
