Kitchen
While the kitchen is petite in size, Wein used the art of visual distraction to downplay its small stature. He engaged bold aesthetics such as painted Peranakan cement tiles for the flooring, blue matte cabinet finishes, as well as wood wall mouldings for the full-height cabinetry.
Living room
With the first floor of this home designated for the communal zones, Wein used a white-hued base as the visual connection between the living, dining and kitchen areas. Anchoring the living area is a dark brown laminate feature wall embellished with Nyatoh wood trimmings. This dark wood-look finish also encloses the bomb shelter and hides it from sight.
Master bedroom
Work, rest and play amenities are well covered in the master bedroom. A compact workstation takes up the
corner of the room and every inch of the space is maximised with a built-in tabletop and storage compartments. A herringbone design detail for the entertainment area creates a cosy, enclave-like look for the bedroom.
Children’s bedroom
Taking on a clean-lined style approach, this bedroom is outfitted with a timeless material palette of white and wood accents. A two-tone treatment of brick inlay and white laminate wall cladding fills the main feature wall and adds depth and a contemporary appeal to the space.
Overall view
Occupying a cosy corner, the dining area comprises a compact dining set flanked by a custom-built padded bench for extra comfort. Above the bench is a built-in showcase designed specially to display the homeowners’ collection of minerals. The brilliantly-coloured geode rocks add a pop of colour to the dining space.
