A light colour palette and open-space layout make way for unique detail and personal touches in this airy condominium unit.

Designer: Edwin Hong from Renozone
Reno period: Five weeks
Living area
Tasked with opening up the living area for a more spacious look, the designer opted for a light and bright colour palette, cladding the walls in white. In order to keep the surroundings cosy and inviting, beige floors were illuminated by warm track lights, ensuring a snug vibe for the mother-daughter duo. A large artwork hangs above the sofa, livening up the pared-down aesthetic with its bold colours. Originally a blanket crafted by the homeowner’s late grandmother, it was framed by the designer and turned into a striking piece of art.
Feature wall
The feature wall not only offers extra storage space but also adds to the visual interest of the condo with its framed niches and rustic accents. A matching console ties the look together while keeping the home’s AV equipment in one place.
Kitchen
The kitchen solidifies the homeowner’s main request: an open-concept cooking zone with a spacious layout. In order to achieve this seamless design, the wall enclosing the kitchen was removed, allowing a wealth of light to stream onto the kitchen island and quartz countertops. While the patterned backsplash tiles add a quirky touch to this space, it is the open liquor rack that steals the scene with its tavern-inspired design.
Bedroom
Airy and free of clutter, the bedroom’s simple design lulls the homeowner into a deep and restful slumber. The bulk of the room’s storage space was concealed behind the walls, keeping everything neat and streamlined.
Bathroom
Maintaining the light colour palette that dominates the rest of the house, the bathroom incorporates seamless marble- look tiles across the walls, reducing clean-up with the lack of grout lines. A floating storage unit with a built-in vanity opens up the floor area while also giving the family of two a little extra storage space underneath the cabinets.
