Wondering what the top interior design trends of 2023 have been so far? We got the designers from Blend by ImC to give their take on it, sharing the top interior design trends they’ve observed in Singapore homes this year.
French doors
One of the top interior design trends the team has noticed is the use of French doors. They make for a great statement entrance that doesn’t detract from functionality.
Opt for an arched door design like the one pictured above to incorporate another major trend of the year—curves!
Curved edges
From organic furnishings to rounded mirrors, wall niches and architectural details, unique curves have been all the rage in Singapore homes this year.
Implement these curves to break up straight lines and add a playful element to more serious designs.
Accent tiles
Tiles are not just about functionality. Besides providing a hardwearing surface along your bathroom vanity or kitchen backsplash, they can also make for lovely accent walls, a trend we’ve seen over and over again this year.
To maximise visual impact, choose just a single wall you wish to draw the eye to in each room and spice it up with carefully chosen tiles. Instant statement piece!
Nooks and niches
Be it a small storage niche or a built-in reading corner, nooks and niches have been exceptionally popular this year.
We particularly love functional settee nooks like the one shown above, which can be really handy in the entryway, providing somewhere to sit and put on shoes before heading out.
Cat furniture and fittings
Pet owners have been requesting more and more special designs for their furkids this year, like this custom cat house. Other pet fittings we’ve seen include luxurious feeding stations, litter boxes built into the vanity and even entire cat rooms.
