Designing homes to reflect the luxurious look of classy high-end hotels is never easy. Besides having to cohesively bring together a variety of impactful design elements, there is also the challenge of ensuring that the resulting interior is all at once stylish, cosy and timeless. Despite all that, designer Yin Jye from Weiken.com was up to the task, and she succeeded in creating a space for her clients that boasts the perfect balance of splendour and charm.

Living & Dining

As they share the same space, the living- cum-dining room sees the use of streamlined furniture pieces like a slim television cabinet and a narrow coffee table to ensure ample walking space all-around. Meanwhile, next to the built-in kitchen island unit sits a loose set of dining furniture. This allows the homeowners to move it out to the balcony to create more space indoors or simply when they want to unwind with friends and family outdoors.

Feature wall

Upon first entrance into this two-bedroom condominium unit, one would be immediately struck by the grand television feature wall. With its marble laminated finishing, the towering wall design is a sight to behold as it is both classy and easy on the eyes. As too much marble would have overpowered the whole space, the designer paired it with grey wallpaper and black tinted mirror to create a balance of textures while still maintaining the high-end contemporary ambience that the homeowners wanted.

Entryway

Along the entryway, the customised shoe cabinet was clad in white laminates to match the style of its surrounding furnishings and fittings. For visual interest, a part of the cabinet was transformed into a glass- fronted open shelf. Featuring marble-effect laminates, the open shelves give the space a personalised touch, with the display niches housing decorative ornaments and letter lights of the couple’s initials.

Master bedroom

To fully maximise the full 4.5m ceiling height in the master bedroom, designer Yin Jye constructed a loft structure that allows the homeowners to use the newly constructed space for sleeping, and the bottom for other daily necessities. Set against a textured grey wallpaper and timber-effect laminates on the floor, the space exudes a cosy and romantic ambience when accompanied by the warm light given off by the pair of sconces.

Walk-in wardrobe

A room predominantly used by the female homeowner, the walk-in wardrobe features an expansive tinted mirrored feature wall that she can see herself in after she’s done with her dressing needs. Opposite, a series of floor-to-ceiling wardrobes house her extensive bag and clothing collection. Creating a boutique-style display, the designer made use of tinted glass for the wardrobe doors, which can be seen through when the LED lights are switched on, but are blacked out when the lights are turned off.
