Hacking away the pre-existing black tiles, the flooring now employs the use of large format homogeneous tiles, which minimises the number of visible grout lines in the design. Meanwhile, the use of mirrored and high-gloss cabinet fronts helps to visually lengthen the narrow space.

Dining

Situated at the base of the staircase, the dining zone was kitted out with a table and bench, a pair of stools and three Tom Dixon pendant lights. Encompassing storage solutions beneath, the bench can also be converted into a daybed. Meanwhile, the cement grey textures of the newly overlaid flooring further enhance the industrial vibe of the home.

Living

Home to a young working couple, the amount of room available for day-to-day living belies the small size of this one-bedroom apartment. Designed by Brim Design, the living room – situated on the newly installed loft platform – features generous full-length storage cabinets. Meanwhile, a comfy green armchair and accompanying ottoman transform the space into a cosy retreat perfect for relaxing.

Kitchen

To keep up with its regular usage, the kitchen was outfitted with quartz countertops and a tiled backsplash. For entertainment purposes, the Brim Design team equipped the upper deck of kitchen cabinets with a sliding track that serves as a mount for a television set. But what’s most impressive is that besides keeping the TV neatly tucked away, the cabinet can also store food items.

Master bedroom

Despite its small size, the master boudoir feels bright and airy thanks to its clean and simple design. Along the wall opposite the bed, existing original wardrobe units were removed in favour of a series of built-in cabinets that span the entire stretch of the wall. Clad in soothing wood-toned laminates, it helps to imbue a sense of warmth into the space.
